Yarn Christmas Tree DIY
Last year I made yarn trees and they added such a whimsical touch to my Christmas decor. Below I will share the supplies I used to create this look. But this year I did a different twist to the yarn trees. Here is last years diy yarn trees with twinkle lights.
Supplies:
- Tree Cone
- Chunky Yarn
- Hot Glue Gun
- Small Wood Rounds
- Pom Pom Trim
Yarn Christmas Tree Craft
Start by wrapping your yarn around the tree cone and slowly glue. Once it is done it’s time to add your trim. You can get creative here, I just simply wrapped it around gently. Then add a couple of drops of glue in some spots. I topped it with a wood star.

So you can either leave them as is or add a dowel with a wood round. To do this I stick my dowel directly into the foam tree base. Time to add the small wood rounds. I glued the round directly onto the dowel. But if you want to make it even more sturdy, you can drill a hole into the round that is the size of the dowel. Easy Christmas Table Setting
For this table I wanted a fun pop of red! With a simple cedar garland down the center scattered with yarn trees and tea light candles. Then white soup bowls with a napkin and gnome placed in them. This made for an easy Christmas table. Shop this look below with our affiliate links.

But we can’t forget about the pop of gold in the silverware. Gold is always so elegant. What is so exciting this Christmas is we will have a new grandbaby! Making for number 2. Dane and Lissa are having another baby girl, take a look at how we did their gender reveal for the first grandbaby. What are you most excited for this Christmas?
Christmas Table Centerpiece
I almost forgot, don’t forget all the cozy things to add to the table setting. Like a blanket draped on a chair or a pillow. If you want more holiday fun, take a look at how we created boho Christmas stockings. Thanks for stopping by!
Can you please explain how the Gnomes are made? The link to buy them is no longer available. I may try my hand at making them. Beautiful table!!!
I bought these gnomes and do not know the steps to making them
As a suggestion based only on looking at the pictures I think you could make a reasonable approximation of the gnomes by starting with a small cone (Styrofoam maybe?). Cut some strands of yarn for the hair and attach them to the top of the cone (glue, hot glue, or rubber band). Use some kind of stretchy fabric to make a little hat and put it over the top. (Conveniently this will cover up the top of the cone where you attached the yarn to make the hair.) Actually after looking at the pictures again the hats look like felt. You could cut a tall skinny triangle out of a piece of red felt and then roll it into a hat. You could either sew it together or use glue. Next scrounge up whatever small round object you can find (pom pom, bead, etc.) and glue it on for the nose. Finally if you want the white accent on the hat find something whispy and threadlike that you can glue on. Maybe you could unravel a piece of yarn. If you decorated for Halloween and have any of those fake cobwebs pull a few strands from that. Please take this with a few grains of salt as I just make it up from looking at the pictures. The gnomes look pretty basic without a lot of detail so I’m sure you can come up with something. Good luck!
Great ideas
Stunning trees and table setting. Which yarn did you use for them? It’s different than the chunky yarn from last years set.
