Beautiful Fall Farmhouse Home Tour with Easy Scone Recipe
Pear scones are the perfect treat for Fall! My husband made these on Sunday morning and oh boy were they delicious!! The basic scones are very tasty, but if you want to add a little extra like pears we like placing them on top. Mixing them in the dough can make the dough chewy, so topping your scone is the best option.
Basic Scone
Ingredients
- 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 2 Tbsp Confectioners Sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 Cup Butter Cut
- 2/3 Cup Buttermilk
- 1 Egg
- Cranberries, Almonds, Cherry, Pears Optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425. Grease cookie sheet.
- Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in large bowl.
- With pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture is course crumbs
- Beat buttermilk and egg in small bowl. Pour onto dry ingredients and stir with fork until mixture comes together.
- On floured surface knead dough 5-6 times. Transfer to cookie sheet.
- With floured hands, pat into 8 inch circle. If you are adding an optional ingredient put it on the top of your scones.
- Cut into 8 wedges.(Do not separate)
- Bake 14-16 minutes.
The kitties had to join in on all the fun! This hammock was so cozy with our linens that I could have laid in it all day. I added my hand painted pumpkin pillow to this because, it screams Fall!! But do you see that gorgeous wreath?? My friend Tiffany over at Tiffany’s Wreath Co made it and you can get 10% off with the code HallstromHome10! I absolutely love all of her items, they are so pretty and she has ones for all different occasions!
Of course Daisy had to join in on the pictures! I hope you enjoyed my Fall tour because this is only part one!! There is much more coming up very soon, so stay tuned.
