Tip 1: Natural Elements
This is a very inexpensive way to add the fall look to your home. Leaves, apples, and oranges are great options to add around in your decor to make it cozy. Todays Creative Life has a great tutorial on how to dry orange slices. Dried oranges are a great look for fall or winter. You can create garlands, potpourri, and even gift wrapping. There are so many fun ideas!
Tip 2: Reuse Decor
This is one of my favorites! Do you have bins of decor you’ve reused? It’s a great way to save money. I like to use a lot of years past decor but in different ways. Rearrange them in a way you normally wouldn’t, or try it in a new spot. This can range from garlands, blankets, pillows, pumpkins. And all of the other fun things you have.
Tip 3: Bring the Outdoors In
I love to bring in mums or asters, they add a fun pop of color. Being placed in vases throughout the kitchen, make it very inviting. Follow along our fall decor board on Pinterest for inspiration.
Tip 4: Twinkle Lights
I reuse my fairy light strands each year and for most seasons. Christmas and Valentines Day are perfect for twinkle lights. Our Christmas Table Setting has become very popular, and it has hints of fairy lights.
Tip 5: Pumpkins Fresh or Faux
I love to mix both kinds together depending on my budget for the season. Some years I don’t want to buy a lot of fresh pumpkins, so I’ll just repaint my faux pumpkins to match that years decor.
Last year I painted my pumpkins blue and this year I went more neutral. I also have a chalk painting ebook that goes over all the things you need to know about painting. We have even painted shoes! Here is a sneak peak at our fall arrangement that we will be sharing soon.
Just don’t forget to have a fall candle. A candle to warm the kitchen and fill that air with pumpkin, that sounds amazing!

What a lovely home, these ideas are beautiful! I’m getting my cabinets refinished in a few weeks and cannot wait to finally decorate my kitchen for fall!
I love how you designed your kitchen. I am a DIY person and love to get things done by myself. However, when my husband hires a concrete contractor here in Milwaukee and get our driveway done, I realized that it’s always best if you hire some professional to get the job done. So I’m planning to hire a professional to reface my kitchen inside. I’ll just let them know about the designs I want. Thanks for these lovely ideas!
Thanks so much Mari. That is my next project for hubby to get done, the driveway needs finished! But yes hired professional work is always a safe way to go especially when re-doing everything.
I am in love with your kitchen and that bouquet is stunning! A few months ago I got my kitchen cabinets paintedwhite and I choose gold hardware to try to match your style. Now that my cabinets are updated, I’m very excited to decorate our kitchen for fall, but this year I have a tight budget. Thank you for these beautiful and affordable ideas!
