I typically don’t love this spooky season, do you? But I have to admit this is pretty stinkin cute! We created a Halloween Bat Porch Decor with Printable. Come get your front porch ready for all the trick or treaters!
This is actually at my sisters house, but we knew her front porch would be perfect for this! Plus her boys loved seeing the bats everywhere. You will just need a few things to make your porch look perfect for this spooky holiday.
Supplies:
- Cricut Machine
- Black Construction paper or card stock
- Mums
- Pumpkins
- Spiders
- Fun Door Mat
- Double Sided Tape
- Wreath
Easy Halloween Bats Using Cricut Machine
To create these paper bats I used our Cricut Explore Air 2 machine. I will share those templates below for you to use if you have a Cricut. We then uploaded them into Cricut design space and then had them get cut out onto our paper.
HOW TO MAKE BATS FOR HALLOWEEN
We might have spent all morning getting the bats cut out. But finally we were done and headed to my sisters. To hang these bats we just used double sided sticky tape. Hanging these all along her house as if they were all flying. And yes I did have to climb up a creaky ladder and if you know me I’m afraid of heights! Check our how we used these same bats on a fire mantel!
How to paint pumpkins
Mums, they are what you need to create a perfect fall porch. We simply place a few out, just to get the look. Then for the faux pumpkins! One of my favorite parts, it really brings the whole look together. What I love about faux pumpkins, is that I can use them for years and years. Also you can paint your faux pumpkins!
Halloween Bat Porch Decor with Printable
Something else I love to do is hang the paper bats with witches hats. It gives such a fun look for Halloween. Of course you can’t forget your wreath and door mat. I just went with a simple feather wreath, I didn’t want anything over powering the bats. Be sure to check out how we revamped our kitchen for fall.
Can you reuse the bats?
Yes! That is what I love most about these. Once I’m done with them this season, I will store them away in a plastic bag. Then bring them out next Halloween.
Are there other ways to hang paper bats?
Yes. Another fun way to hang bats is to hole punch a hole in the tops of them. Then you can get fishing line and string it through the holes. I like to then place them all around the ceiling, so it looks like they’re hanging. One year I hung bat with fishing line from the trees, take a look at that Halloween table here. That was cool too!
What Kind of Paper for Paper Bats?
Construction paper or card stock is a great option to use. They are stable enough to keep the bats shape.
Can I Weather Proof Paper Bats?
Something that will help weather proof it would be to spray a polyurethane. It will not completely weather proof it, especially if it’s in direct weather. But for the bats underneath the covered area it will help to keep those staying new.
