It’s been a busy week! During all the family time while my FIL was passing away. I was able to create this gorgeous Tobacco Basket Wall Hanging with Flowers. It was a lot of fun to put together and super easy! I will help you through the process below and of course you can change it up a bit to your special style. Make sure you read all the way through because at the bottom I will be sharing 25+ more fall diys, perfect for your home!

Tobacco Basket Wall Hanging with Flowers
When creating this I knew I wanted something that would work great for Fall. The main thing when creating something like this is to pick elements you really love. So I went with pumpkins, because who doesn’t love some pumpkins?! But I also decided to add a welcome sign. I just thought this would be darling greeting your guests in the Autumn months.
How to make a tobacco basket
I just picked up the basket at a local craft store. If you have a strong basket, like dark wood you can lighten that up with white wax. It will be less bold on the eyes. I just simply rub it on with a rag and there ya go!
Find yourself a fun welcome sign. Or any sign that you would love to see hanging. This is just a fun little addition to add to your piece. I will include some affiliate links below to a few of my favorite signs.
Next get a piece of wreath base, something like grapevine. Then you cut it into pieces or you can use green floral foam. Use twine to attach them at the bottom of the basket. Then stick your stems into the floral foam or the pieces of the grapevine wreath. I didn’t have to use hot glue. I just stuck the stems in and they stayed perfectly.
First layer with your branches and twigs. Then you build with some colorful twigs and stems. Next start adding the little pumpkins and the florals. I used a gorgeous hydrangea to finish it off.
You can add a bow if that’s your thing, I’m personally not into bows so I just leave them out. For me I like to stick to simple farmhouse decor, so bows don’t seem to fit that. Also if you have some little pumpkins but you are not liking the color, I have a chalk painting pumpkin tutorial. It is perfect to change up the look a little. We also have a great chalk painting ebook to get you started on the basics.
Is this a seasonal wreath?
No, you can change up this wreath to make it work for all seasons! Just by switching out a couple things you can make it work for all seasons. I will give you examples below.
Winter tobacco basket wall decor
You can take off the pumpkins and replace those with something that matches the season better. Like for Christmas I would replace the pumpkins and add pinecones. But maybe change out a couple of the other twigs with holly just to change it up a little. A perfect Christmas Tobacco basket wreath.
Spring Tobacco Basket
I would put eggs or maybe little birds nests. Maybe even add some pretty little cherry blossom stems. The possibilities are endless when it comes to creating a tobacco basket.
Summer tobacco basket with flowers
Get some really pink and blue florals in there, something that really screams summer to you.
